Job summary

41 North Contractors, a general contracting firm serving Chicago and Phoenix markets, seeks an Estimator II to price all project aspects, align with designs, and sustain budgets and schedules. You will generate competitive bids, coordinate with clients, and support project turnover with senior staff.

Candidates should have 3+ years in commercial estimating, strong knowledge of construction documents and materials, and experience with PlanSwift/Bluebeam or similar tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent construction management experience.
• Minimum 3 years of commercial construction estimating experience (conceptual, negotiated, hard bidding).
• Must work closely with architects, developers, and business owners as required.

Responsibilities

• Review RFPs, drawings, specs, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope and content of estimates.
• Develop preliminary construction budgets with clients and reps.
• Prepare bid packages and solicit subcontractor bids and quotes.
• Take-offs and estimate development prior to subcontractor input.
• Maintain estimate files and assist with project turnover meetings.
• Mentor Estimating staff and maintain templates.
