Job summary

ESPO Corporation, a national specialist in concrete cutting, is seeking a Chief Estimator / Senior Estimator in Dallas, TX for a permanent role. You will lead estimating, proposal development and bid packages for concrete pavement restoration and road construction projects from $1M to $5M.

The ideal candidate has a Civil or Construction Management degree with heavy bid experience and highway project know‑how, plus HCSS Heavy Bid proficiency. Travel to pre-bid and sites is required.

Qualifications

• B.S. Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent plus 2+ years in heavy/highway estimating and project management.
• Knowledge of multi-locality labor agreements and prevailing wages.
• Familiarity with multi-state DOT specifications.
• Strong negotiation skills to resolve contract issues in bids.
• Ability to travel for pre-bid conferences, site visits and bid reviews.
• Clear written communication for bid packages and reports.

Responsibilities

• Monitor bid opportunities and manage customer relationships.
• Develop estimates from bid documents including bonding, insurance and indemnification.
• Ensure thorough takeoffs and accurate unit costs.
• Develop means/methods, equipment, crew size and productivity rates.
• Visit job sites and attend pre-bid meetings.
• Negotiate project construction time and penalties; manage schedules and costs.
