Job summary

Abbott Construction in Seattle seeks a Senior Estimator to manage and assist in compiling estimates across healthcare and K-12 projects, ensuring cost accuracy.

You will lead bid processes, develop scopes and budgets for review by Owners and Project Managers, and provide takeoffs and cost analyses. A four-year degree and 5+ years of estimating experience are required; knowledge of Beck Destini, WinEst, and AutoCAD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience.
• Experience with healthcare or K-12 projects from $1M to $20M.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Knowledge of hospital/clinical building systems.
• Progressive Design Build familiarity.
• Reading blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding process including document control and subcontractor bids.
• Develop scopes and budgets for customer review.
• Nominate and elect subcontractors for design-build estimates.
• Update subcontractor database.
• Perform cost comparisons and analyses.
• Maintain cost information in databases and reference resources.
• Monitor estimating software systems.
• Provide quantity takeoffs for changes on drawings between permit and construction sets.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to support estimating on projects.
• Manage multiple estimates in a fast-paced environment.
• Participate in site visits and pre-bid walks.
