Job summary

A well-established General Contractor in Houston is looking for an experienced Estimator to join its preconstruction team. The Estimator will prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial projects, collaborate with project teams, and analyze requirements. Ideal candidates will have over 3 years of experience in estimating and strong knowledge of construction methods. Benefits include medical insurance and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience estimating ground-up commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, materials, and pricing.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for ground-up commercial projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, analyze labor, material, and time requirements.
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Develop subcontractor scopes of work and issue bid packages.
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks.
