Job summary

1 Resource Group Staffing seeks a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction activities and develop cost estimates for government projects. You will analyze drawings, review RFQs/RFPs, and collaborate with project teams to ensure bids meet technical and budget requirements.

The role requires 5+ years of estimating experience in construction, strong InEight expertise, and a solid grasp of FAR/DFARS and contract compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of estimating experience in construction, preferably with federal or public sector projects.
• Strong proficiency with InEight (Cost, Estimate, and Project Controls modules).
• Proven track record of successful bids in government contracting environments.
• In-depth understanding of FAR/DFARS, prevailing wage, and contract compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience working cross-functionally with project managers, procurement, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of cost estimates for government projects including civil, industrial, and infrastructure work.
• Utilize InEight software to manage estimates, create cost databases, and generate bid proposals.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and related documents to determine project scope and technical requirements.
• Review RFQs, RFPs, and bid solicitations for compliance with FAR/DFARS and other government regulations.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs, material pricing, labor analysis, and subcontractor evaluations.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to identify risk factors, value engineering opportunities, and project efficiencies.
• Prepare cost summaries and reports for executive review and client submission.
• Participate in bid reviews, negotiation meetings, and project handoffs.
• Maintain and update estimating standards, pricing data, and historical cost records within InEight.
• Ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance throughout all estimating processes.
