Job summary

Royal Caribbean Group is seeking a Lead Estimator to develop data-driven cost estimates for fleet modernization, revitalization, dry docks, and refurbishment programs. You will establish estimating processes, maintain cost databases, and provide financial insights across projects.

You will partner with project teams, shipyards, vendors, and stakeholders to benchmark costs, validate assumptions, and drive continuous improvement in estimating discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in cost estimating, project controls, construction, shipbuilding, refurbishment, capital projects, or related environments.
• Experience developing estimates from conceptual planning through execution phases.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labor, scheduling, cost drivers, and lifecycle management.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specs, scopes of work, and vendor proposals.
• Advanced analytical skills with experience building cost models, budgets, forecasts, and reporting tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; knowledge of estimating software, AutoCAD, Power BI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive development and continuous improvement of estimating processes, methodologies, tools, and cost databases.
• Develop detailed cost estimates, budgets, forecasts, and financial models from project scope and drawings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review requirements, validate assumptions, and identify cost impacts.
• Analyze shipyard and vendor proposals for cost validation and decision support.
• Review documentation to determine quantities, materials, labor, timelines, and costs.
• Track cost trends, forecast accuracy, and lessons learned to improve forecasting.
• Prepare executive summaries, reports, and presentations on cost assumptions and risks.
