Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial roofing projects from preliminary drawings and specifications.
• Analyze and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications to understand the scope of work to bid.
• Use CAD software to create roofing designs and layouts.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing information.
• Collaborate with the project management team to develop project schedules and plans.
• Conduct site visits and attend pre‑bid meetings to ensure accurate understanding of project conditions and requirements.
• Present prepared estimates to clients and stakeholders, explaining and defending cost estimates as needed.
• Continuously monitor industry trends and pricing to ensure our company remains competitive.
• Participate in contract negotiations, change order discussions, and project hand‑off meetings.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator in the commercial roofing or construction industry.
• Proven expertise in CAD, roofing, project estimating, cost estimating, and estimating.
• Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in using estimating software and technology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of relevant construction laws and regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
