Jobot is seeking a dynamic Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our Elkridge, MD team. This permanent, full-time role requires inspecting sites, reading blueprints, and producing precise estimates for commercial roofing projects.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience, strong negotiation skills, and excels at communicating with clients and stakeholders. We offer medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, generous PTO, and a 100K base plus uncapped commissions.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. 1. Conducting thorough, detailed site inspections to assess the scope of roofing projects.
2. 2. Analyzing blueprints, plans, and other technical documents to understand project requirements.
3. 3. Preparing comprehensive, accurate estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and other project costs.
4. 4. Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices and terms.
5. 5. Collaborating closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure all project requirements are met.
6. 6. Presenting estimates to clients and stakeholders, explaining the rationale behind cost projections and addressing any questions or concerns.
7. 7. Continually monitoring industry trends and pricing fluctuations to ensure our estimates remain competitive and accurate.
8. 8. Maintaining detailed records of all estimates, including adjustments and alterations, for future reference.
9. 9. Working under tight deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

1. 1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial roofing estimation.
2. 2. Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and technical specifications.
3. 3. Strong negotiation skills, with a proven track record of securing favorable terms and prices.
4. 4. Excellent numerical skills, with an ability to create accurate, detailed estimates.
5. 5. Familiarity with industry standard software and tools.
6. 6. Exceptional communication skills, with an ability to clearly explain complex concepts to clients and stakeholders.
7. 7. Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

9. 9. A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
