Job summary

Automatic Data Processing, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our commercial construction team in Dallas.

You will lead the estimating process for ground-up, tenant improvements, renovations, and design-build projects, coordinating with Preconstruction, Project Management, Operations, and clients. You will prepare detailed budgets, takeoffs, and cost breakdowns, negotiate with subcontractors, and mentor junior estimators.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience, preferably with a general contractor.
• Extensive knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, building systems, and industry standards.
• Proven experience estimating ground-up construction, renovations, tenant improvements, and other commercial projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating process for commercial construction projects from initial bid review through final proposal submission.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents across disciplines.
• Prepare detailed estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and general conditions.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analyses to establish budgets.
• Solicit and negotiate subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive bids.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop bid strategies and value engineering options.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits; support project handoffs.
