Job summary

Loenbro in Gilbert, AZ is seeking an UMI Senior Estimator to lead cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects, with emphasis on underground utilities and earthwork. The role requires detailed takeoffs, ongoing coordination with operations, clients and vendors to ensure bids are complete and competitive.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of estimating or operations experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and geotechnical reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and Excel.
• Experience with estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or similar.
• Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, drawings, specifications, bid documents, and contracts.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Prepare cost estimates with minimal oversight.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Analyze labor productivity, equipment requirements, and production rates.
• Identify project risks, constructability concerns, and potential cost impacts.
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and field personnel to develop project execution strategies.
• Prepare bid summaries, estimate reviews, and proposal packages.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as required.
• Assist with value engineering and alternative construction methods to improve project competitiveness.
• Ensure all estimates comply with company procedures and client requirements.
• Participate in bid review meetings and present estimating recommendations to management.
