Job summary

KLA Industries in Nashville, TN, seeks a Senior Civil Estimator to lead our Civil Precon Department. You will oversee and present competitive cost estimates for paving projects, shaping our ability to win work and execute on projects.

The role requires guiding the preconstruction team, mentoring junior estimators, and driving process improvements with a focus on timely, accurate bids. A strong background in civil estimating is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in civil estimating is required.
• Experience estimating a range of civil projects (excavation, paving, grading, etc.).
• Proficient in Excel, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Bid-To-Win and AGTEK is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication, client development and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Lead bid processes for public and private sector projects.
• Identify labor, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals and plans.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare bid packages and present final estimates to senior management.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary.
• Provide value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain historical cost data and develop estimating templates and tools.
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to process improvements.

We are searching for an experienced Estimator in Nashville to lead our Civil Precon Department.

As our Senior Civil Estimator - you will oversee, approve & present our competitive cost estimates for all paving projects we perform. Furthermore, Your expertise will directly impact the company’s ability to win more work and execute on those potential projects -- so We are looking for the Right Person to lead ( and grow) our preconstruction team.

• Sense of Urgency on submitting complete bids (on time) is absolutely essential.
