Job summary

Faulconer Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Senior Estimator to drive the annual booking goal, prepare complete estimates for diverse projects, and participate in business development and client relations.

You will work with bid teams to produce itemized takeoffs and price labor, equipment, materials, and subs. The role requires thorough knowledge of estimating techniques, the ability to read drawings and specs, and collaboration with Owners/Architects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of direct work experience in an estimating capacity.
• Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, geotechnical information, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Ability to estimate all types of projects and coordinate group work effectively.
• Willingness to work long hours to finalize a bid.
• Ability to build relationships with clients, engineers, and owners.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and implement estimating processes.
• Assist the Estimating Manager in coordinating overall corporate estimating functions.
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, geotechnical information, and labor/material requirements; prepare itemized lists and site walks.
• Prepare estimates by calculating the complete takeoff of the scope of work and price labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Write detailed scopes of work including terms and conditions for bid proposals.
• Interface with Owners and Architects/Engineers to provide price, proposals and value engineering ideas.
• Follow up on submitted proposals and discuss them in weekly estimating meetings.
• Maintain knowledge of software for takeoff, bid creation, scheduling, and CRM.
• Visit current project sites when feasible to understand production methods.
• Assist in creating yearly Business Plan and stay current with market trends.
• Provide estimating support for change orders as needed.
