Job summary

S.J. Amoroso Construction Co., LLC seeks an experienced Senior Estimator to lead complex public works pursuits and guide bid strategy.

You will work directly with the Chief Estimator, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with operations and executive leadership to win key projects. Responsibilities include reviewing plans and specifications, preparing complete estimates, managing risk, and delivering sound pricing within deadlines.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction estimating experience; public works experience strongly preferred.
• Experience leading complete estimates for projects typically ranging from $20 million to $100 million.
• Strong verbal, written, leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• ProEst (digital takeoff), BuildingConnected, Bluebeam, Excel, scheduling software, and bid management tools proficiency.
• Experience with preconstruction services and alternative project delivery methods preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned estimates and pursuits from initial review through bid submission and turnover.
• Deliver accurate estimates within established deadlines.
• Review plans, specs, addenda, and owner requirements to identify scope gaps and risks.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and pricing; develop bid packages for all trades.
• Mentor estimators and lead turnover meetings with operations and leadership.
• Solicit bids from qualified vendors and evaluate subcontractor proposals.
• Support in prebid activities, client presentations, and post-bid clarifications.
• Work with Chief Estimator to implement policies and best practices.
