Qualifications

• Confident communication with owners, architects and subcontractors

Full-Time | Commercial General Contractor

If you're a Senior Estimator in South Florida and feel like you're ready for more influence over the projects you pursue, this is worth a conversation.

We are representing an established and growing commercial General Contractor looking to strengthen its preconstruction team in West Palm Beach.

They're looking for an experienced estimator who can do more than simply produce a number.

You'll be involved throughout the preconstruction process - developing budgets, building subcontractor relationships, evaluating risk, identifying value engineering opportunities and working alongside clients and design teams to turn early concepts into successful projects.

The Opportunity

You'll take a leading role in estimating and preconstruction across a strong pipeline of commercial projects throughout South Florida.

Responsibilities will include:

• Leading estimates from conceptual budgeting through final GMP
• Preparing detailed estimates and quantity takeoffs
• Developing scopes of work and bid packages
• Managing subcontractor outreach and bid coverage
• Reviewing and leveling subcontractor proposals
• Developing conceptual and schematic budgets
• Identifying value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
• Reviewing drawings for constructability and potential risk
• Working closely with Operations throughout preconstruction
• Participating in client meetings and presentations
• Developing strong relationships with subcontractors, architects and clients
• Supporting project handover from Preconstruction into Operations
• Mentoring junior members of the estimating team

Who We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with experienced Senior Estimators, Lead Estimators and Preconstruction Managers currently working within commercial construction.

Ideally, you'll have:

• 7+ years of commercial construction estimating or preconstruction experience
• Experience working for a General Contractor
• Experience developing estimates from conceptual stages through GMP
• Strong subcontractor bid management and scope review experience
• Experience with value engineering and constructability reviews
• A strong understanding of project costs, risk and market conditions
• The ability to communicate confidently with owners, architects and subcontractors

South Florida experience and established subcontractor relationships would be highly attractive, although we're also interested in strong candidates looking to relocate into the Palm Beach County market.

Base salary up to $160,000, dependent on experience
