Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Project Controls team, based in our Washington DC, Columbia MD, or Herndon VA offices. You will prepare estimates by gathering drawings and specifications, identify labor, material, and time requirements, and compute costs for transit electrical projects.

You will also maintain cost databases and present findings to the team. The role requires a BS in an engineering discipline, 10 years in transit electrical estimating, strong knowledge of On-Screen

Qualifications

  • 10 years related experience in transit electrical estimating (facilities, systems, infrastructure).
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (e.g. Civil Engineering), Construction Management, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated skill/experience in development of Conceptual through Bid Document crew-based or unit price cost estimates
  • Strong knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff or Bluebeam software and MS Office applications.
  • Able to read plans and develop cost estimates
  • Strong understanding of construction processes
  • Able to demonstrate progressively-increasing responsibility in estimating, working effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures<br/>Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Estimator to join our Project Controls team. This individual can be based out of either our Washington DC, Columbia MD, or Herndon VA office.

Your Impact

Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 10 years related experience in transit electrical estimating (facilities, systems, infrastructure)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge in use of HCSS HeavyBid, Sage Timberline, and/or other estimating software applications

  • Experience in architectural and mechanical estimating is also a plus

  • Construction contractor estimating experience

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $165,000-$185,000/year

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $165,000-$185,000/year

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
