Job summary

KE&G Construction, Inc. seeks a Senior Estimator in Tucson, AZ, to prepare accurate, timely estimates for $5–$25M projects in public and private sectors. The role requires 10+ years of estimating experience, leadership, and strong knowledge of civil construction principles.

The successful candidate will analyze data, review plans, and present bids to senior management, mentoring the estimating team and developing local bid opportunities. This is an on-site role with ESOP and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree as listed or equivalent related work experience.
  • 10+ years estimating experience.
  • Prior management experience required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), AGTEK Take-off and Primavera Scheduling software.
  • Advanced knowledge of civil engineering and construction principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of (U)DBE requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and compile estimate data affecting labor, materials, equipment, location and other factors for high-quality, timely estimates.
  • Review drawings, specs and site conditions; record findings and gather input from field operations for final estimates.
  • Analyze alternative construction methods to improve bid competitiveness.
  • Review take-off quantities for data accuracy in estimates.
  • Utilize cost history and estimating software to complete estimates efficiently.
  • Apply advanced mathematical and analytical processes to ensure accuracy of costs.
  • Present estimates and participate in bid reviews with senior management for accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate estimate and Bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings to clarify scope.
  • Develop and maintain relationships to increase bid opportunities in the local market.
  • Supervise and mentor estimating staff to support development and uphold standards.
  • Lead Design-Build projects to ensure high-quality estimates.

What You'll Be Doing:


  • Analyze and compile estimate data affecting the cost of labor, materials, equipment, location, and other factors to ensure a high-quality, timely estimate.

  • Communicate with owners, subcontractors, and public and private entities to ensure competitiveness.

  • Communicate estimate and bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings to ensure a clear understanding of project scope.

  • Develop and maintain business relationships that increase bid opportunities in the local market.

  • Supervise, direct, and mentor estimating staff to support individual development and uphold company standards.

  • Participate in and/or lead Design-Build projects to ensure high-quality estimates.

What You'll Bring:

Education


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent related work experience.


Experience


  • 10+ years of estimating experience.

  • Prior management experience required.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), AGTEK Take-off, and Primavera Scheduling software.

  • Advanced knowledge of estimating software.
