Job summary

KE&G Construction, Inc. in southern Arizona is seeking a Field Engineer to support field operations, safety program implementation, and project coordination.

The role includes assisting field teams, preparing risk analyses, coordinating with subcontractors, and tracking quantities and schedules. Ideal candidates will have a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent construction experience, plus proficiency with MS Office and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or 3 years of equivalent construction experience.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office products.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable past driving history.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position requiring pre-employment and random drug screenings.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors; lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Company and Project Safety Plans.
  • Assist field teams with safety and technical needs.
  • Develop Hazard Risk Analysis Matrix with project team.
  • Schedule training and onboarding.
  • Track production and manage material procurement.
  • Coordinate with project and safety teams; verify material deliveries.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or 3years equivalent construction experience.
  • Should possess functional knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office products.
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable past driving related history.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position, you will need to pass a pre-employment and subsequent random drug screenings.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Implementation of Company and Project Safety Plans
  • Assist field teams with safety and technical needs
  • Working with the project team, help develop a Hazard Risk Analysis Matrix
  • Training and Onboarding scheduling
  • Production tracking and reporting
  • Material procurement
  • Coordination and communication with the project and safety team.
  • Development and estimation of material quantities required for construction.
  • Field verification of production quantities and rates of production.
  • Monitor and track quality control issues of various materials related to the construction of various projects.
  • Verification of material deliveries for conformance to project plans and specifications.
  • Preparing and tracking project submittals.
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors and material deliveries.
  • Assist Project Managers with pay applications, job forecasting, change orders, etc.
  • Prior to project start, obtain all necessary permitting, responsible for bluestake (utilities locate), review bid, plans and specifications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • This position operates at professional construction sites, requiring the ability to communicate with verbally others on site, in person and over the telephone, ability to read printed materials, signs and directions, stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions, ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds and reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner.
  • Will be required to work on project sites and operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment and other tools within local, state and federal safety guidelines.
  • This position operates in a professional field environment. The position requires working outside, frequently for long periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.
