Qualifications

ITP (International Talent Partnership) is partnered with a National, Top 5, Employee-owned Electrical Contractor who are looking for a Senior Estimator, or an experienced estimator who is ready for a step up. The Senior Estimator leads the preparation and completion of bid and submittal documents, as well as cost estimates for electrical construction projects. They serve as the lead estimator, coordinating with other estimators, suppliers, and clients to finalize the estimate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates from quantity take-offs and complete them using computer printouts.

• Identify key project components critical to a competitive estimate.

• Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to define scope and estimate contents.

• Evaluate areas for potential value engineering cost savings.

• Lead personnel preparing discipline sub-estimates for assigned bids.

• Maintain all working documents and data to support estimate figures.

• Develop labor productivity and installation unit costs based on site conditions and historical data.

• Prepare detailed lists of materials and equipment needed for estimates and obtain quotes.

• Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors, solicit quotes, and review for compliance with plans and specs.

• Ensure timely completion of all required client documents.

• Draft scope/proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects.

• Provide the Chief Estimator a detailed review of scope, requirements, and pricing before issuing the bid package.

What You’ll Need

• Read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings
• Perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating
• Estimate all types of projects and to coordinate and supervise group work effort essential
• Mentor and assist with the development of Estimators
• Identify and meet customers’ needs, expectations, and requirements
• Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and change priorities as necessary
• Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
• Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

Must have

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 4 years’ Electrical estimating Experience
• Large scale Commercial experience is essential ($70M-$100M)
• Semi-Conductor/Mission-Critical/ EV Manufacturing experience is desired
• Experience in Accubid estimating software, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam software preferred
• Experience in CAD or 3D software preferred
