Job summary

We Search People is assisting an established heavy civil contractor in the NYC area to recruit a Senior Estimator. This role leads high-value bids and works on bridges, heavy highway, utilities and public works projects, taking ownership of complex pursuits.

You will own the full bid process from takeoffs and subcontractor solicitation through bid review and submission, and develop detailed estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, utilities and foundations.

Qualifications

• 15+ years combined field and estimating experience in heavy civil, bridge, or heavy highway construction
• At least 5 years estimating for a General Contractor
• Strong NYC/NJ public works experience
• Experience with NYC DOT, MTA, DDC, DEP, or similar public agencies is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of bridge construction, utilities, concrete, earthwork, roadwork, structural steel, foundations, and site work

Responsibilities

• Lead estimates for heavy civil projects up to $20M+, with larger pursuits alongside additional support
• Manage the full bid process from takeoffs and subcontractor solicitation through bid review and submission

I’m currently working with an established heavy civil contractor in the NYC market that is looking to add a Senior Estimator to its growing team.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced estimator who has a strong background in bridge, heavy highway, utility, and public works construction and wants to take a leadership role within an established estimating team.
