Job summary

Green Key Resources is partnering with a Nashville-based General Contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Estimator for the growing preconstruction team.

The Senior Estimator will lead conceptual and detailed estimating, coordinate with design and ownership teams, and drive procurement strategies for complex commercial projects across multiple sectors.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of commercial construction estimating/preconstruction experience.
• Strong background with a General Contractor.
• Experience estimating complex commercial projects across a variety of market sectors.
• Strong understanding of conceptual estimating, detailed estimating, budgeting, bidding, and procurement.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Strong knowledge of construction costs, means and methods, and current market conditions.
• Experience managing multiple estimates and pursuits simultaneously.
• Strong subcontractor relationships and ability to effectively scope and level bids.
• Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with preconstruction, operations, design teams, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating efforts from conceptual budgeting through final bid.
• Develop detailed conceptual estimates, budgets, cost models, and milestone estimates.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing across multiple scopes.
• Manage subcontractor outreach, bid solicitation, scope review, leveling, and pricing analysis.
• Review drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, and project risks.
• Partner with owners and design teams throughout design development to maintain alignment with project budgets.
• Support value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Develop bid packages and procurement strategies.
• Analyze historical cost data, market conditions, labor trends, and material pricing.
• Coordinate closely with operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction into construction.
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors and trade partners.
• Support and mentor junior estimators as needed.

Green Key Resources is partnering with a nationally recognized, employee-owned General Contractor in the Nashville market to bring on an experienced Senior Estimator for their growing preconstruction team.

This is an opportunity for an experienced construction professional with a strong background in commercial estimating and preconstruction who is comfortable taking ownership of complex projects from early conceptual pricing through final bid.

The Senior Estimator will work closely with preconstruction leadership, operations teams, clients, design partners, and trade partners to develop accurate budgets, identify cost and constructability opportunities, and position projects for successful execution.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
