Job summary

Conductor Power, a leader in solar EPC and electrical services, seeks a Senior Estimator to guide the full estimate lifecycle from concept to proposal delivery. You will mentor junior estimators, manage vendor and client relationships, and push continuous improvements in estimating processes.

Ideal candidates have 7–10+ years of experience, strong leadership and negotiation skills, and deep knowledge of renewable energy systems and construction methods.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of estimating experience.
• Experience managing an estimating team.
• ASPE, AACE, PMP certifications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of renewables and electrical infrastructure.
• Proficiency with estimating tools and MS Office.
• Experience with HCSS HeavyBid and Bluebeam preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead project pursuit kickoff meetings and develop estimating strategies.
• Prepare high-level conceptual estimates for early scope.
• Review and approve detailed estimates by junior estimators.
• Present estimate reports, risk assessments, and financial impacts to leadership.

Job Summary

The Senior Estimator leads the estimating function for projects, overseeing the entire estimate lifecycle from conceptual budgeting to final proposal delivery. This role manages vendor and client relationships, mentors junior staff, and drives continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Leads and manages the estimating team, including training, workload distribution, performance oversight, and quality control.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Lead project pursuit kickoff meetings and develop estimating strategies.
• Prepare high-level conceptual estimates for early project scoping and feasibility analysis.
• Review and approve complete detailed estimates prepared by junior estimators.
• Prepare and present estimate reports, risk assessments, and financial impacts to company leadership.
• Identify project uncertainties and develop contingency and risk‑mitigation plans.
• Lead negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to establish pricing and contractual terms.
• Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, cost drivers, and industry trends affecting pricing.
• Integrate new technologies, value‑engineering options, construction methods, and sustainability components into estimate development.
• Lead and oversee the development of complex proposals, including schedules, execution plans, site logistics, and clarifications.
• Oversee and participate in constructability reviews and advanced site evaluations.
• Manage historical data systems and performance metrics to improve estimating accuracy.
• Mentor, train, and oversee junior estimators, assigning work and reviewing outputs.
• Serve as the primary customer‑facing estimator for major or complex projects.
• Support strategic planning and resource allocation for the Preconstruction department.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, and Field Operations.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Expert knowledge of renewable energy systems, electrical infrastructure, and construction methodologies.
• Advanced ability to interpret complex engineering documents and specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple large-scale estimates simultaneously.
• Advanced analytical skills and strategic thinking.
• Proficiency with estimating tools, cost databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education/Experience

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Estimating, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 7–10+ years of estimating experience.
• Experience managing an estimating team.
• Professional certifications (ASPE, AACE, PMP) preferred.
• Experience in HCSS HeavyBid and Bluebeam is preferred

Physical Requirements

• Primarily sedentary work when working in the office. Occasional lifting, carrying, walking, and standing; frequent hand /eye coordination to operate computer keyboard and office equipment; vision for reading, recording and interpreting information; speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and other team members.
• When navigating to a job site, the ability to move around project sites, which may involve walking, climb stairs, and navigating uneven terrain.

• As necessary to perform business operations.
