Job summary

BLOX is seeking a strategic Estimating and Preconstruction Manager to lead all preconstruction efforts across assigned programs. You will shape pricing, coordinate with clients, subs, and internal teams, and drive accurate, competitive bids for modular building solutions.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years in the construction industry.
• 3-5+ years in preconstruction and estimating.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead all preconstruction efforts across assigned programs.
• Manage and mentor Estimators, Assistant Preconstruction Managers, and staff.
• Develop and execute pricing strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Lead subcontractor outreach, bid coordination, and pricing exercises.
• Prepare and review estimates, scopes of work, and bid packages.
• Perform price leveling and provide award recommendations.
• Conduct risk analysis and communicate impacts to leadership.
• Lead value engineering and develop project schedules and work plans.
• Track design scope changes and escalate budget/schedule impacts.
• Build relationships with clients, subs, vendors, and design partners.
• Lead client presentations and ensure quality of all deliverables.
• Communicate progress, risks, and solutions to stakeholders.
• Support contract negotiations, proposals, and business development.
• Develop and improve estimating processes, systems, and tools.
• Maintain estimating databases and reporting systems.
• Lead handoff of preconstruction information to operations, design, supply chain, and finance.
• Support and, when needed, lead subcontractor and supplier buyout.
