Job summary

Broadcom is seeking an experienced ESD CAD Engineer to join our Chandler team. You will evaluate ESD protection circuits using PathFinder and Calibre, implement automated ESD checks, and develop techniques to meet stringent ESD standards.

You will collaborate with design teams and document all designs comprehensively. The role demands a Master’s in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience, with strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as an ESD CAD Engineer.
• Proven experience using industry-standard CAD tools for electronic design.
• Strong understanding of ESD principles, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate ESD protection circuits using industry-standard CAD tools (e.g., Ansys PathFinder, Calibre DRC, Calibre PERC).
• Work with design teams to implement and analyze automated ESD checks to ensure accuracy and improve protection.
• Develop and implement effective ESD protection techniques to ensure our products meet rigorous ESD standards (e.g., JS-001, JS-002, IEC61000-4-2).
• Leverage your knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals to analyze and solve complex design challenges.
• Understand and apply tradeoffs between ESD and circuit performance.
• Utilize industry-standard tools and techniques for electrical analysis.
• Collaborate effectively with design teams, product engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of all designs and projects.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and project goals.
