Position Overview
The Senior ERP & Power Platform Solutions Architect is responsible for the architecture, design, delivery, integration, and ongoing improvement of core business systems centered on Microsoft Dynamics, Spectrum ERP, Microsoft Power Platform, Dataverse, Power BI, Azure DevOps, and Vertiv OSC-connected workflows.
This role bridges business process design, enterprise application architecture, data modeling, automation, analytics, systems integration, and delivery governance. The position is ideal for a senior technical professional who can translate operational and financial requirements into scalable, supportable, and secure business application solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture and Platform Ownership
- Define the target architecture, solution patterns, technical standards, and design approach for ERP-connected business applications and integrations.
- Lead solution design across Microsoft Dynamics, Spectrum ERP, Dataverse, Power Platform, Power BI, Azure DevOps, and external operational systems.
- Evaluate business requirements and design scalable, maintainable, and supportable technical solutions aligned to operational goals.
- Establish architectural guardrails for data integrity, workflow reliability, security, supportability, and long-term platform sustainability.
- Produce and maintain solution diagrams, design documentation, integration specifications, data mappings, and support artifacts.
ERP and Business Systems
- Architect, configure, extend, and support Microsoft Dynamics-based business applications, workflows, data structures, and business processes.
- Support Spectrum ERP integration, enhancement, and optimization for finance, service, inventory, operations, and related workflows.
- Work with business stakeholders to improve process efficiency, system usability, reporting quality, and application adoption.
- Identify opportunities to simplify fragmented manual processes through workflow redesign, automation, and system integration.
Power Platform and Dataverse
- Design and govern solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate and Dataverse-based applications and data models.
- Define Dataverse table structures, relationships, security roles, business rules, and environment-management practices.
- Oversee automation design for approvals, notifications, exception handling, integrations, and process orchestration.
- Ensure Power Platform solutions follow sound lifecycle, deployment, governance, and support practices.
Reporting and Analytics
- Architect and support Power BI datasets, semantic models, dashboards, and reporting solutions for operational and management decision-making.
- Define reporting patterns, data logic, and KPI structures that improve trust in ERP and business-system reporting outputs.
- Partner with stakeholders to prioritize reporting needs and translate them into scalable analytics solutions.
- Improve data consistency and reporting reliability across business systems and connected applications.
Systems Integration
- Architect and support integrations among Microsoft Dynamics, Spectrum ERP, Dataverse, Power Platform components, Vertiv OSC, and other internal or external systems.
- Define integration methods, transformation rules, synchronization logic, scheduling, reconciliation, monitoring, and exception-management practices.
- Lead troubleshooting and remediation for integration failures, data mismatches, and process breakdowns across connected systems.
- Coordinate with vendors, internal application owners, and operational stakeholders to improve interoperability and production stability.
Delivery, Change Management, and DevOps
- Use Azure DevOps to support backlog management, work tracking, source control, branching strategy, release processes, testing coordination, and change control.
- Establish and improve repeatable delivery practices for business applications, reports, integrations, and automation assets.
- Support structured promotion across development, test, and production environments.
- Contribute to issue triage, root-cause analysis, remediation planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Security and Governance
- Apply role-based access, least-privilege design, environment controls, and secure integration practices across business application platforms.
- Support governance for solution design, change management, documentation quality, supportability, and platform administration.
- Partner with IT, security, compliance, and business leadership where needed to align solutions with internal controls and operational requirements.
- Reduce key-person dependency by creating maintainable, documented, and supportable technical solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics in a business application, ERP, or operational systems environment.
- Experience supporting or integrating Spectrum ERP or a comparable ERP platform in a multi-process business environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate and Dataverse.
- Experience designing or supporting Power BI reporting solutions, data models, and dashboarding for operational use cases.
- Experience with Azure DevOps for source control, work tracking, release coordination, and delivery governance.
- Experience architecting or supporting integrations among ERP platforms, Microsoft business applications, and third-party systems.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs, process improvements, and supportable application solutions.
- Strong documentation, stakeholder communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Vertiv OSC integration or comparable facility, service, or operational platform integration.
- Experience with model-driven apps, Power Apps architecture, or broader Microsoft business application solution design.
- Experience with data mapping, ETL-style transformations, API integrations, and reconciliation practices.
- Experience in distribution, field service, equipment sales, technical service, maintenance, or other operationally complex environments.
- Experience defining standards for business application governance, lifecycle management, and support processes.
- Familiarity with security, audit, or compliance expectations relevant to enterprise application environments.
