Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of related experience; hydraulics or furnace specialty is a plus.
  • Ability to read equipment drawings and electrical & hydraulics schematics.
  • May require working at heights (15 ft. or more).
  • Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance to determine causes of operating problems in plumbing, electrical systems/components, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems up to 480V and perform preventative maintenance and testing on wiring and components.
  • Install and repair electrical systems and components of industrial machinery following blueprints and schematics.
  • Test and modify production equipment and perform minor adjustments as needed.

Job description

Trinity Industries, Inc. is searching for a Senior Equipment Technician (2nd shift) in our Fort Worth, Texas Facility. This role is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to determine causes of operating problems in areas including but not limited to plumbing, electrical systems/components, HVAC, carpentry, electrical fixtures/switches/power sources and mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

Qualifications - External
  • Performs complex repairs on production equipment motors and mechanical components including basic pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Troubleshoots electrical problems up to 480v, performs preventative maintenance and testing on electrical wiring and components.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs to production and mechanical equipment, machinery and components.
  • Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications using electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Lays out, builds, tests trouble shoots, repairs and modifies production of electronic components, parts, switch panels etc.
  • May test new equipment, trouble shoot operation, make minor adjustments to equipment.
  • Maintains and completes all required records.
  • Follows all safety rules and practices.
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Desired knowledge and experience
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 2-4 years of related experience; hydraulics or furnace specialty experience a plus
  • Ability to ready equipment drawing, and electrical & hydraulics schematics
  • May require working above ground (15 ft. or more)
  • Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects, comfortable with heights.
  • May require working in narrow or confined workspaces for extended periods of time.
