Job summary
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking an O&M Technician Operator IV (Equipment Operator) based at the Lake Mathews Reservoir Facility in Riverside. This journey-level role focuses on safe operation of a diverse fleet and maintenance of water treatment, distribution, and hydroelectric systems.
Responsibilities include operating motor-graders, driving various heavy trucks, and performing routine maintenance while ensuring safety.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years in heavy construction equipment operation.
- Journey-level skills through a recognized equipment operator training program and/or related experience.
- Valid California Class A Driver's license with tanker endorsement and medical certification at time of application.
Responsibilities
- Operate motor-graders for precision grading and leveling.
- Drive dump trucks, water trucks, and stake bed trucks.
- Perform facility maintenance including vegetation removal and road grading on MWd infrastructure.
- Build and maintain access roads and rights-of-way.
- Load and transport equipment using multi‑axle trucks and trailers.
