Job summary

AXIS Capital is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist for EPL and Fiduciary claims in North America. The role involves managing complex claims, valuing settlements, and evaluating coverage while mentoring junior staff.

The candidate will collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and management teams to drive data-informed decisions. The position requires a JD, strong litigation skills, and the ability to work in-office three days per week.

Qualifications

• Hold a Juris Doctorate.
• Demonstrate ability to work as a team and meet deadlines.
• Have skills in litigation management, investigation, dispute resolution.
• Have experience independently drafting coverage letters.
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to deal with a wide range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Handle and manage complex Employment Practices Liability Claims and determine valuation and settlement strategies.
• Attend mediations and monitor trials as necessary.
• Draft coverage letters and negotiate complex coverage issues; involve outside counsel when warranted.
• Mentor junior claims adjusters.
• Support underwriting and actuarial teams with data and analytics.
• Maintain relationships with executives, brokers, underwriters, insureds and outside counsel.
• Manage costs with Litigation and Vendor Management teams.
• Keep accurate claim records and timely system updates.
