Job summary

KYOCERA SLD Laser, Inc. in Fremont, CA is seeking a Senior Epitaxy Hardware Manager to lead MOCVD reactor hardware and supporting epitaxy equipment.

You will own uptime, PM cadence, spares management, and develop the hardware engineering and technician team for GaN laser diode production. The role requires 10+ years in semiconductor equipment/hardware, hands-on reactor experience (Aixtron/Veeco/TNSC), and strong cross‑functional collaboration with process, operations and quality teams.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering required; 10+ years in semiconductor hardware/equipment.
• 3+ years managing technical teams.
• Hands-on deposition reactor hardware experience with GaN/laser diode production.

Responsibilities

• Own MOCVD reactor hardware performance across Fremont reactors.
• Own supporting epitaxy hardware and gas delivery/abatement systems.
• Own epitaxy metrology hardware and tool availability/calibration.
• Maintain hardware consumables, spares, and refurbishment cycles.
• Build and standardize PM SOPs, documentation, and records.
• Manage equipment engineers and technicians: hiring, training, coverage, development.
