Job summary

State of Ohio Health Department is seeking an Epidemiology Investigator 3 to lead data-Driven investigation of infectious diseases. This role involves coordinating data collection, performing statistical analyses, and reporting findings to CDC and local health districts.

You will train LHD staff, assist with grant-related tasks, and support surveillance activities across Ohio. Travel may be required during emergencies; excellent attention to detail and strong data interpretation skills are

Qualifications

• Completion of graduate core program in public health or preventive medicine.
• 3 courses or 9 months of experience in statistical software packages.
• 6 months of experience as epidemiology investigator with local or federal health agency.
• Must have own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for CDC and local health districts on water-borne diseases.
• Coordinate epidemiological database management and ensure data quality.
• Submit specimens to the Public Health Laboratory for confirmation.
• Provide cross-coverage for other infectious diseases as needed.
• Conduct computerized epidemiological and statistical analyses using appropriate software.
• Write/edit reports with visuals and timelines from epidemiologic data.
• Serve as trainer and technical advisor to LHD personnel on surveillance.
• Assist supervisor with administrative duties and grant-related tasks.
