CVS Health's Spire Life Sciences Solutions organization is hiring a Senior Associate Epidemiologist / Senior Decision Scientist to advance real-world evidence and foster collaborative research with academic partners.

You will identify grant opportunities, lead study design, manage large healthcare datasets, and publish findings, using SAS, SQL, Python, and GCP. This full-time role supports remote or office work within the United States with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience identifying, developing, or supporting externally funded research opportunities and collaborations.
• Experience with academic investigators, research institutions, or public health organizations.
• 8+ years in epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, health outcomes research, or real-world evidence generation.
• Strong understanding of observational study design and healthcare data sources.
• 5+ years using SAS, SQL, and/or Python; strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and advance collaborative research opportunities with academic investigators, research networks, government agencies, and public health organizations.
• Establish and maintain strategic partnerships to support joint publications, grant proposals, and scientific initiatives.
• Proactively monitor grant opportunities relevant to epidemiology, public health, and real-world evidence.
• Assess where LSS capabilities address research gaps and serve as subcontractor or partner on funded projects.
• Develop research concepts and contribute to study protocols and other deliverables.
• Lead or support dissemination through manuscripts, abstracts, and conference presentations.
• Support acquisition, transformation, and analysis of large healthcare datasets.
• Generate and review analytic outputs, document findings to ensure scientific rigor and compliance.
• Utilize SAS, SQL, Python, and GCP to manage data and generate insights.
