Job summary

Ampirical is seeking an EPC Project Manager to lead complex substation projects from early engineering through construction and energization in Covington, LA. You’ll oversee engineering, procurement, construction, scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable power infrastructure.

Required: a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, 10–15 years (Level III) or 15+ years (Sr) in EPC substations; strong knowledge of project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
• Experience managing EPC substation projects in utility/infrastructure sectors.
• Level III: 10–15 years; Sr: 15+ years in relevant roles.
• Knowledge of substation engineering principles, construction sequencing, commissioning, and outage coordination.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage full EPC lifecycle for utility substation projects (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, closeout).
• Lead project execution across safety, scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across design, protection & controls, civil/structural, procurement and construction.
• Develop and maintain schedules, staffing plans, cost forecasts, and client reporting.
• Oversee contractor performance, material procurement, outage coordination, and field activities.
• Serve as primary contact for clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Lead meetings, change management, issue resolution, and status communications.
• Ensure deliverables meet client expectations and QA/QC standards.
• Support proposal development, planning, and resource forecasting.
• Travel to client sites and facilities as needed.
