Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Algorithm Engineer II for EO/IR image analysis in Tucson, AZ. You will develop, validate, and deploy advanced EO/IR algorithms for space payloads, with emphasis on real-time processing and mission reliability.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in machine learning, optical design, and space vehicle modeling, and contribute to the transition of algorithms from concept to production, including documentation and stakeholder presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree + 8+ years or higher (MS/PhD options) in technical field with image processing experience.
• Strong experience designing and optimizing EO/IR image processing and CV algorithms.
• Proficiency in Python with strong programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and deploy EO/IR image-processing algorithms for space payloads.
• Collaborate with ML, optical design, and simulation teams.
• Transition algorithms to real-time implementations with hardware teams.
