Job summary

Great American Insurance Group's Environmental Division seeks a Senior Production Underwriting Specialist to evaluate and bind Site Pollution and Contractors Pollution Liability for new and renewal business in compliance with underwriting guidelines.

Based in New York City, this hybrid role requires mentoring junior staff, strong collaboration with brokers and agents, travel for national marketing, and staying current with industry trends and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Generally, a minimum of 10 years of environmental underwriting experience or combined significant environmental underwriting experience with prior environmental consulting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and underwrites Site Pollution and Contractor’s Pollution Liability new and renewal business.
• Analyzes risk data to determine coverage, pricing, and terms.
• Interacts with internal teams, agents, brokers, and clients for information.
• Evaluates Phase I and II reports and other documents to inform decisions.
• Mentors junior staff and supports cross-functional collaboration.
• Stays updated on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions.
