Job summary

JCW Group is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter for its Environmental Division, a fast-growing specialty insurer focused on residential and commercial solutions. You will underwrite new and renewal business, collaborate with wholesale brokers, and manage a profitable book while building strong client relationships.

A background in environmental science is a plus, and CST or EST time zones are ideal for this role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of underwriting experience in environmental insurance.
• Experience assessing risks in General Liability, Pollution Liability, Auto, and Excess lines is a plus.
• Underwriting-related certifications or coursework are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business in accordance with company guidelines.
• Collaborate with wholesale brokers to grow a profitable book of business.
• Maintain strong relationships, develop new opportunities, and retain existing accounts.
• Review and assess risks including General Liability, Pollution Liability, Business Auto, and Excess Liability.
• Mentor and share expertise with junior underwriters.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and industry certifications.
