Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Principal Environmental Project Manager – Transportation to lead environmental programs across transportation markets from our Los Angeles, Irvine, or Riverside offices. You will guide complex projects with federal, state, and local agencies, mentor teams, and expand our environmental planning practice.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years as a project manager, expertise in CEQA/NEPA/NHPA/ESA, and a track record of coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and pursuing opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources, or related field.
• Meet qualifications and serve as a Contract Manager on Caltrans On-Call Environmental Contract.
• 15–20 years of progressively responsible work history as a project manager, preferably with consulting experience.
• Subject matter expert with CEQA, NEPA, Section 106 NHPA, and/or ESA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental programs focused on transportation markets (highway, rail, aviation, ports, local)
• Grow environmental programs for transportation clients and build a scalable practice
• Manage complex projects with federal, state, and local agencies and stakeholders
• Mentor team members to enable growth and efficient delivery
• Use client relationships to diversify and differentiate Jacobs' brand
