Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Senior Environmental Service Technician at Grosse Pointe Hospital. You will clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms and offices, ensuring high standards of sanitation and safety.

You will also train and guide Environmental Services staff while coordinating with other departments to maintain seamless service. The role emphasizes teamwork, leadership during uplines absence, and flexibility to serve across department sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months of relevant public service / customer service experience in health or janitorial settings.
• Experience with cleaning, disinfecting, waste removal and linen handling.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms and offices according to procedures.
• Remove and dispose linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets and upholstery.
• Assemble, maintain and store equipment and supplies per department standards.
• Provide training and ongoing instruction to Environmental Services staff on cleaning procedures and standards.
• Assign, coordinate, inspect and perform quality assurance on work assignments.
• Communicate with team members and other departments to ensure continuity of service.
• Act as team lead during uplines absence and report issues to upline.
• May work at multiple sites for coverage and due to business needs.
