Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Senior Environmental Service Technician at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. You will clean and disinfect patient rooms and support areas, remove waste and soiled linens, and maintain floors, carpets, and upholstery to high standards.

You will also train team members on procedures, lead shifts when needed, and collaborate with teams to ensure uninterrupted, safe, and kind care for patients and staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6 months of relevant public service or customer service experience in healthcare, hotel, environmental services, or janitorial fields is required.
• CHEST certification preferred with 1 year of healthcare environmental services experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect and stock patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas per procedures.
• Remove linens and waste streams and dispose appropriately.
• Maintain floors, carpets and upholstery through routine maintenance.
• Provide training to Environmental Services staff on standards and procedures.
• Coordinate work assignments and perform quality assurance inspections.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure continuity of service.
