Job summary

Sphere 3 Environmental, part of True Environmental, is seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist to lead regulatory strategies and audits for oil and gas clients. You will drive technical excellence, mentor junior staff, perform site investigations, prepare permit applications, and ensure compliance with EPA, TCEQ, RRC, NMED, NMOCD and other agencies.

The role requires field travel, strong written communication, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum 3+ years in environmental science, regulatory compliance, or consulting with oil/gas focus.
• Deep knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (EPA, TCEQ, RRC, NMED, NMOCD).
• Strong writing and communication skills for client/regulator interactions.
• Willingness to travel to field sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance projects, including audits and regulatory reporting.
• Act as Technical SME for environmental regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Author and direct high-level permit applications and technical reports.
• Design and oversee field investigations and sampling programs.
• Mentor junior scientists and ensure QA across deliverables.
• Collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors on multidisciplinary projects.
