National Grid is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to manage NYSDPS Article VII and Article VIII licensing and permitting for large electric and gas projects in New York. The role involves working in a hybrid environment across Syracuse, Albany, and Buffalo, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal environmental requirements and coordinating with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental field or related science is required.
• 7+ years of related environmental experience.
• Extensive knowledge of environmental licensing and permitting requirements.
• Experience with siting electric/gas projects under NYSDPS Article VII/VIII/94-C or Article 10.

Responsibilities

• Manage NYSDPS Article VII and Article VIII licensing and permitting for large electric and gas projects.
• Provide technical support for data, documents, schedules, environmental issues and expenditures.
• Oversee project permitting and field site visits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering and Construction to implement environmental requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of federal, state and local environmental regulations and procedures.
