Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Environmental Remediation Engineer or Scientist to lead complex cleanup projects in the Upper Midwest from Madison or Milwaukee, WI, with remote work considered for qualified candidates.

Role includes technical and project leadership from planning through implementation, client relationship development, pursuit strategy, and staff mentorship across sediment, groundwater, and soil remediation challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of environmental remediation experience, including at least 4 years of project management experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing environmental assessment, remediation, and restoration projects.
• Advanced knowledge of site investigations and remediation involving sediment, groundwater, surface water, and/or soil.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, contracts, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
• Must pass pre-employment screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and execution of environmental investigation, remediation, and restoration projects.
• Serve as a technical leader for contaminated sediment, groundwater, surface water, and environmental remediation projects.
• Direct site characterization programs, RI/Feasibility studies, remedial designs, and implementation activities.
• Develop and execute strategic project delivery plans, staffing approaches, and teaming strategies.
• Coordinate with Practice Area Networks and client sector leaders for high-quality service.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Oversee QA/QC programs and health and safety requirements.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk across lifecycle.
• Lead client engagement and pursue new business opportunities.
• Mentor and develop engineers, geologists, and scientists.
