Job summary

Michigan Consulting & Environmental seeks an experienced Environmental Engineer (PE) / Senior Project Manager to lead complex projects from site characterization through remediation and regulatory closure. This is a senior, client-facing role in Traverse City or Mt.

Pleasant, MI. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced consulting environment, communicates clearly with clients and regulators, and brings a solutions-oriented mindset to environmental challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan is required.
• 5+ years in environmental consulting with regulatory knowledge.
• Strong client development and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental site assessments (soil, soil gas, groundwater).
• Lead RAPs, remediation system design, construction, and operation.
• Oversee large programs and multiple projects within scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Advise clients on technical, regulatory, and strategic matters.
• Interface with EGLE, USEPA, and local regulators.
• Manage project financials: budgeting, forecasting, cost control.
• Mentor junior staff and lead QA/QC efforts.
• Support business development and client relationships.
