Job summary

TRC is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer / Project Manager (PE) to support our engineering practice in New York City. The role focuses on leading remediation system design, budgeting, and client coordination across diverse projects.

Applicants should hold a PE, have 10–15 years in remediation engineering/consulting, and possess strong communication skills. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and cross-team collaboration within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related ABET-accredited field. Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• 10-15 years' experience with remediation engineering/consulting firms.
• Remediation system design, construction oversight and O&M experience.
• Budgeting, scheduling, procurement and coordination of contractor teams.
• Technical expertise in environmental investigations, remediation and compliance.
• In-field remediation experience.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification with annual refresher.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform remediation system design work.
• Develop and track project budgets, scopes and schedules for regulatory submittals and other documents.
• Collaborate with dynamic project teams.
• Perform QA/QC of deliverables and ensure quality across projects.
• Prepare and review technical documents, reports and designs.
• Build rapport with clients and employees.
• Prioritize health and safety.
• Maintain a billable hour utilization target.
• Cross-sell TRC services and identify new business opportunities.
