Job Description

General Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of an environmental engineering project to ensure safe completion on time, within scope, and within budget. Responsible for executing the project according to its contracted scope, monitoring progress and performance against the plan, troubleshooting operational issues, and minimizing delays. May oversee resource management, project scheduling, budgets, forecasts, and coordinate with external vendors, subcontractors, or contractors. Conduct meetings, prepare reports to communicate project status to the team and client, set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate staff to meet milestones. Communicate with clients and ensure deliverables meet their satisfaction. Coordinate with APR for engagement opportunities and oversee invoice approval, change orders, and collections.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage large-scale, complex projects.
  • Define project scope, schedule, and budget in collaboration with the client or NAM.
  • Lead interactions with clients and stakeholders to align goals.
  • Design, communicate, and implement project plans.
  • Lead safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with safety plans.
  • Resolve operational problems to minimize delays.
  • Identify and develop necessary resources for project completion.
  • Prepare designs, work specifications, schedules, budgets, and select materials and staff.
  • Estimate costs, resources, and timelines.
  • Forecast expenditures and manage scope and schedule to meet budgets.
  • Monitor activities, allocate resources, and assign tasks.
  • Partner with other departments for specialized resources.
  • Conduct project meetings and prepare status reports.
  • Coach and mentor staff, helping resolve issues.
  • Coordinate with APR for oversight and quality reviews.
  • Coordinate with accounting on financial management, invoicing, and collections.
  • Assess project risks and ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Lead safety efforts, promote a safe work environment, and foster quality standards.
  • Ensure consistent quality in project and proposal delivery, engaging APRs early.
  • Initiate mentoring and application processes for Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer certification.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field, with at least 10 years' related experience, or 14 years' experience without a degree.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), or similar relevant professional registration.
  • Authorized Project Reviewer status (preferred).
