Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking an Environmental Senior Project Consultant to lead environmental projects from proposal development through closeout, providing technical leadership, client management, staff development, and financial accountability.

You will serve as the primary client contact, manage budgets, coordinate staff, and ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably, and in accordance with ECS standards while upholding our core values.

Qualifications

• 10 years of related experience in environmental consulting or equivalent
• Bachelor's and/or Master's in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Natural or Environmental Science, Geology, or related field preferred
• Obtain and/or maintain licensure or certifications applicable to the work performed
• Extensive knowledge of environmental principles, regulations, and consulting practices
• Excellent project management and consulting skills
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities
• Strong financial management and budgeting skills
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to review and evaluate technical work produced by others
• Strong business development and client growth capabilities
• If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required

Responsibilities

• Directs project planning, staffing, and implementation activities
• Oversees complex environmental investigations
• Reviews field reports and technical documentation
• Develops site work plans and investigation strategies
• Manages remediation design, installation, operation, and maintenance activities
• Oversees underground storage tank assessment projects
• Leads client meetings and communicates project milestones and significant findings
• Reviews technical reports prior to Principal review
• Supports development of Staff PMs, Project Managers, and technical staff
• Leads and mentors junior staff and supports professional development across the team
• Manages environmental consulting projects from proposal through project closeout
• Serves as the primary client contact for assigned projects
• Maintains and expands client relationships and business opportunities
• Manages project budgets, profitability, invoicing, and collections
• Reviews and approves project change orders and budgeting adjustments
• Schedules, trains, and oversees technical staff assigned to projects
• Coordinates project staffing and resource allocation
• Oversees multiple projects simultaneously and ensures successful project execution
• Reviews and approves proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates
• Prepares and reviews environmental reports, analyses, and recommendations
• Conducts senior-level reviews of project deliverables before Principal review
• Leads client meetings and project discussions
• Supports staffing decisions in collaboration with department leadership
• Provides guidance on technical, operational, and project management issues
• Performs additional project leadership and technical duties as assigned
