Job summary

AECOM Corporation is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner - Transmission to join the Environmental Planning and Permitting team in the Midwest. This hybrid role can be based in Indianapolis or nearby offices, with travel across the Midwest as needed.

The role focuses on leading environmental planning, NEPA documentation, and permitting for energy projects, including transmission and renewable energy developments. Strong client relations and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, environmental science, geography, natural resources, engineering, or related field.
• 6 years of relevant experience in electric transmission and renewable energy through permitting, routing and siting analysis, and land use entitlements.
• Ability to travel for agency/client meetings, as needed.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to pass an MVR check.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental planning and compliance for energy infrastructure projects and coordinate with state utility regulatory agencies.
• Manage early-stage due diligence for siting energy projects and related infrastructure.
• Provide project management for mid- to large-sized projects including schedules, budgets, invoicing, and client coordination.
• Work on environmental documents and entitlements for energy sector projects.
• Support Midwest and national markets leveraging AEOCM's platform and expertise.
• Contribute to proposals, scope and cost estimates as a seller-doer.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
