Job summary

Langan is seeking a Project Environmental Permitting & Compliance Engineer, or Scientist / Project Manager to join its collaborative team in Boston, MA or New Haven, CT. This role performs multimedia environmental permitting and compliance projects, including air quality permitting and modeling, audits, and SPCC planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or closely related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 6+ years of experience with multimedia environmental permitting and compliance in a consulting environment.
• PE or on track to obtain (FE/EIT) or CHMM preferred.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and projects with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare permit applications and compliance programs for air, wastewater, stormwater, waste, SPCC, and storage tanks.
• Perform multimedia environmental compliance audits, gap assessments, inspections, and program reviews.
• Develop and support monitoring and contingency plans (SPCC, FRP, SPR, SWPPP, Hazardous Waste Plans).
• Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for project assignments.
• Lead or assist in proposal development including scope and costs.
• Manage project budgets and invoicing; maintain client relationships.
• Conduct field support at client sites and mentor junior staff.
