Job summary

Imperium Commodity Search is confidentially retained by a privately held US commodity brokerage to expand its environmental markets platform. The role seeks brokers with depth across Carbon, LCFS, RECs, CCAs and related credits, capable of developing their specialist area while collaborating with adjacent desks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a profitable brokerage book within one or more environmental commodity markets, including Carbon, LCFS, RECs and CCAs
• Facilitate transactions between utilities, energy companies, renewable fuel producers, trading houses, financial participants, project developers, corporates and other compliance market participants
• Provide accurate bids, offers, price discovery, market colour and commentary across your specialist environmental markets
• Maintain and expand established client relationships while introducing new counterparties and sources of liquidity
• Monitor regulatory, legislative and market developments that may affect pricing, liquidity and client requirements
• Help clients navigate the commercial implications of changing compliance obligations and environmental market structures
• Work with the firm’s RINs and physical biofuels brokers to identify relevant cross-product and cross-client opportunities
• Coordinate with operations and compliance teams to support client onboarding and the efficient execution of business
• Influence the future direction of the environmental platform, including product expansion and additional hiring where appropriate
