Job summary

Domtar in Kingsport, Tennessee, is seeking an Environmental Manager to lead environmental programs and ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations. This full-time role reports to the Plant Leadership Team and collaborates with Operations and Maintenance to drive safety and sustainability.

You will manage the on-site wastewater lab, oversee environmental audits, and mentor staff while implementing corrective actions for incidents and maintaining EMS across the mill.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in science, engineering or environmental fields.
• 7+ years of progressive environmental management experience in process industries.
• Experience with environmental permitting including Title V air permits.
• Knowledge of water and air regulatory programs.
• Hands-on, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements environmental programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Partners with operations to prioritize Mill initiatives and lead environmental improvements.
• Leads investigations of environmental incidents and implements corrective actions.
• Maintains EMS system and on-site wastewater lab operations.
• Provides on-call environmental services and supports SOP development.
• Audits testing and uses data to improve environmental performance.
