Qualifications

• Certification as an environmental health professional (CEHP) required within six months.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in public health, environmental health, or a physical/biological science.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspections.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regulatory environmental health inspections across Food Safety, Group Care, Migrant Housing, and other facilities to ensure compliance with state laws.
• Prepare and issue permits, licenses, or approvals as appropriate; provide education and recommendations.
• Document findings clearly and update inspection records in Environmental Health Database and HMS.
• Interact with facility operators and engineers to advise on design and operation of facilities and enforcement actions.
