Job summary

Florida Geological Survey in Tallahassee is seeking a GIS Analyst to conduct environmental and geological research and mapping to support Florida’s natural resources. The role develops GIS data and projects, maintains databases, creates field mapping applications, and supports geologic publications and online products.

The candidate will work with ArcGIS Pro and related GIS software, collect and analyze scientific data, and travel for field work as needed.

Qualifications

At least 2 years of verifiable GIS experience.
HS diploma or GED equivalent; post-secondary degrees may substitute for required experience.
ArcGIS Pro and GIS software proficiency with knowledge of database design and cartographic principles.
Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret scientific/technical data and communicate technical information effectively.
Valid Driver's License and ability to travel and perform field work.

Responsibilities

Conduct environmental and geological research and mapping to support responsible use and understanding of Florida's natural resources.
Develop GIS data and projects for publication and online products.
